Small Space, Big Style

You don’t need a big space to make a big splash with good design. C Stewart Design specializes in creating gracious interiors in tight spaces, using smaller-scale furnishings and creative accessories to achieve a surprisingly expansive feel!

Interiors Reflect:

• Fitting furniture into small spaces

• Incorporating pieces from previous homes

• Tasteful furnishings that fit the client’s budget

Four projects illustrate the power of style in a small space:

A Folk Art Loft,

An English Apartment,

An Arts & Crafts Co-op,

and a high impact, small redo of a Project Room.

Folk Art Loft

A colorful collage of textured wovens and cotton prints upholstered on desigher furniture creates a warm and inviting atmosphere in an open and airy brick loft.

The two very different designer chairs in unique, playful fabrics add a big splash of color, warmth and whimsy to the once industrial surroundings, while a small, bright flower arrangement brings a breath of spring into the space.

An antique chair re-upholstered in a rich green ultrasuede fabric provides yet another luxurious perch for an enchanting rag-doll companion.

English Apartment

Antique English furniture and accessories make this small apartment warm and inviting.

An English Staffordshire teapot, antique English books and small flowers pots with bright pink blooms combine to highlight the colors in the floral design of the small chair.

Classic English style flows throughout the apartment, making the space feel larger with the consistency of style.

Arts & Crafts Co-op

Elements from a variety of traditional American design trends come together in a stylish co-op. Stickley fabrics and furniture, custom Arts & Crafts inspired rug and Southeast Asian antiques produce a sophisticated and tranquil living space.

An antique Arts and Crafts chair with Stickley fabric next to a new Stickley bureau becomes the perfect spot for writing letters or doing paperwork.

A comfortable corner to relax, includes an antique Moroccan table and a leather chair with a custom-made lumbar pillow done in Stickley fabric.

Antique, Black-lacquer, Chinese side tables, a custom Arts and Crafts inspired rug, and custom down pillows in Stickley fabric work perfectly with the cool green painted walls.
